C.1570. Lower pauldron (protection for the shoulder and upper arm) plate from a fine and perhaps noble armor. 5 ¼” length, straight measure. The bottom elegantly scalloped and set with three gilt rivets. The border including the return to the next upper articulated plate, outlined, and fire gilt. The field with near all original finish, blued turned brow. Each end and the upper portion with holes for articulating leathers. A rare single element from an armor of museum quality and preservation would be stunning in complete form.
