Brass hilt with boat form guard, straight cross guard and knuckle bow. Each element including the pommel and quillon block with matching spiral/angled fluting, gadrooning. Heavy copper wire wrapped grip of military type with chevron pattern. 30 7/8" triangular blade of heavy fighting form with broad military type point, unmarked. Shows good uniform patina from used and handling with superficial bruises but sound, tight, and no damage. The blade with crisp original surfaces and a few small areas of frosty black oxidation, negligible for the period. Type which served in Colonial America and the Revolution.
