10th-15th century AD. Silvered bronze, about ¾” diameter engraved with addorsed birds facing a double medial line. These birds, sometimes identified as eagles were a popular motif in the Middle Ages. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, pages 124-5 for several variations on ring bezels of the 10th through 15th centuries. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored and suspended one a Sterling silver neck chain. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
