The forte decorated with foliage. The root of the fuller with stag & hound one side and boar & hound the other. Those motifs as found on hunting swords as well as civilian hangers. Most of these, while classified as hunting swords, in fact, were carried by civilians for personal protection in Europe and Colonial America.
