Gettysburg area, purchased from a "relic shack" adjacent to the battlefield in the early 1970s. Bronze, size 9 with a raised rectangular bezel in imitation of a stone. Broad shoulders with well rounded radial reeding to the shoulders. The bottom with a crack. Exceptional glossy green patina. Almost surely Confederate, the workmanship typical of the cottage industries on rural plantations which filled gaps in the work schedule and served to capitalize the tools and simple machines used.
