See The American Sword, Peterson #10. 31" single edged blade, crisp with gray patina, some spock marks pitting toward the point The forte marked EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON NJ maker and dated 1863 with D F M  inspection mark (Dexter F Mosman). Hilt with storage surface soiling and age patina. Excellent Civil War example with pivotal date including Gettysburg.
