Central Mexico, northwest of Mexico City. Chupicuaro was discovered in 1946 during dam construction. This figure and the following two were purchased in the 1950's.  2 ¾” height, buff terracotta, with fertility attributes, including pregnancy and post pregnancy characteristics. “Coffee bean” eyes and mouth with hooked nose. Well-ordered hair, ear spools and necklace with pendant. Superior example in excellent preservation.
