Made in the Japanese style and used in the 1894-5 war with Japan as well as the 1937-45 war, famous for the Flying Tigers, American volunteers serving in the Chinese Air Force. Style faithfully replicating the Japanese model, but the workmanship and detail distinctly Chinese. Brass hilt with wire wrapped black leather grip. 28 3/4” narrow fullered blade with gray patina. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip and pierced guard. Iron scabbard cracked and soldered in the middle. Uniform aging as expected with no other damage.
