Short sword proportions, 19 1/2” overall. Brass mounted hilt. The wood grip lacking the tape wrap. Brass mounted sanded sharkskin covered scabbard. 13 3/4” curved wedge section blade with scalloped clipped point and chiseled with a dragon. The upper scabbard segment removes to produce a second 10 1/4” blade of identical form and decoration. This blade shows distinct cross banding indicative of pattern welded construction. Very rare form.
