Bronze, made by the lost wax process. A bee’s wax original pattern is encased in the mold material. It is melted out and replaced by the molten bronze which solidifies as an identical reproduction of the wax pattern. This one is oval, either as made or bent with the ends tied as a knot as is typical for Celtic jewelry. It is a small size, though not measurable due to its form. It has a fine green patina from burial and is in excellent preservation.
