4th-6th century, Continental Europe. Open mold bronze casting. 1 3/4" length. The head hauntingly realistic and embodying a near supernatural aura. Displaying true artistry and skilled execution. The subject was notoriously feared as the principle man killer in nature as well as imbued with satanical powers. This is a piece of something larger, unidentified to us, but it is truly an early Medieval masterwork.
