Forged iron, 4 1/4" height, with square opened seam socket and flared bit. Professionally conserved excavated condition with surface texture and isolated erosion mixed with original surface. The Celts, known to Romans as Gauls, fought Roman conquest successfully until the second century BC. This axe dates to the Halstead Period.
