BYZANTINE CROSS C.6TH-8TH CENTURY AD

Bronze, 3 ½” (3.54”) height with flared beams. The cross beam above center. The top pierced for suspension. The front with hand engraved detail comprising lined borders and five vignettes, each a cross within a circle. The crosses with flared beams and inscribed with a central stick cross. The back is plain. The cross of an early Christian leader/priest. Provincially made in the Dark Ages after the fall of Rome. Excellent untouched preservation with fine patina.
