BYZANTINE AMULET, 5TH-9TH CENTURY AD

The Dark Ages after the fall of Rome and the period of evolving Christianity. Circular, over ½” (0.59”) diameter with beaded or “pearled” edge. Centered quadrilobate cross.  Early Christian with the cross of stylized and deliberately obscured. Gilt bronze with the 24karat gold surface restored. On an 18” gilt silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
