A large fragment of a bronze sickle used for agricultural work. 2 ¾” x 1 3/8” curved. Flat one side with thickened back and slightly thickened edge, showing loss from sharpening. Ritually broken as part of a funerary rite. Fragments such as this and rarely, larger segments have been found in Sussex and other locations in England. They are parts of working sickles broken upon the death of their owners.
