3” diameter, cast iron. Screw on top with fuse tube and fuse cover securing ring. Produced in 1915, this pattern was deemed too large for handling and over charged producing excess fragmentation. Evidently the standard pattern used a hand ignited fuse. Another source describes arming by tapping the fuse. This example appears to be of the latter type with a rigid fuse stack. Excellent and obviously, inert.
