Produced under Ottoman rule, the elegant proportions of this pistol provide good balance for accurate firing. The tiger stripe Circassian stock is made without provision for ramrod which, traditionally, is carried separately strung with the primer. The stock is decorated with bone inlays as well as the circular composite inlays used extensively on Turkish arms. The 11 5/8" barrel is .60 cal., a typical configuration. The barrel and lock, which holds its original flint, show scattered pitting.
