Classic example for its type (Stone fig. 66 #6, Riling p.105 #102). 6 ¾” length, brass in two addorsed chambers of bird form (Riling calls swan form) with a band at the junction. Each terminal formed as a bird head, one is the spout. Sprung spout lever and fancy pierced suspension ring. Engraved overall in panels of foliage with three containing noble figures. Shows age and use with wonderful patina. The decoration all in good contrast. Small bruises including at least one which appears to be a bullet impact.
