4 ¼” height, made from a dried gourd and retaining its original stopper. Acquired from Alex’s (Antiques) Uncas Connecticut about 1970 where it was displayed with a tag identifying it as Revolutionary War. Solid and undamaged but with the indications of age supporting its provenance. At least dating to the War of 1812/Federal Period flintlocks and priming flasks were no longer needed after the introduction of the percussion system in the 1830s.
