Imagine yourself sitting atop a horse, getting ready to go to battle against the cuirassier wearing this helmet and wielding this sword. Do you think you'd win the battle? I certainly don't think I would! With a helmet like that, the owner clearly meant business, having taken numerous impacts and cuts. Both of these pieces date to 1620-30. The helmet is made as part of a 3/4 or full armor, and the rapier is a good example of very large horseman's swords.
