Fragment of a Medieval European or Viking silver coin from a Viking burial site. About 1/4" square, cut from a silver coin with a knife or axe. The coin was cut into pieces which were scattered around the burial, presumably for use in the afterlife. Well preserved with detail that may allow for identification of the coin by country and date. In a Plexiglas display mount on easel display.
