TOLEDO at forte. The guard decorated in high relief foliage with fully modeled patriot head quillon terminals. Spirally fluted wire wrapped black horn grip. Minor blemishes including some bruises along the blade back ahead of the forte. A time of Civil War for Spain with the overthrow of Narváez as regent in 1843, following the first Carlist War of 1833-39. The disarray is demonstrated by the attribution of this model as Infantry, “and perhaps other” in the information cited above.
