RARE VIKING FIELD ANVIL, 10th-11th CENTURY AD

Forged iron, 3 3/4” length. The top is tapered to, a rectangular section used to sharpen sword and service edge nicks on sword blades in the field. The spike was driven into a log or tree and the blade edge hammered against to top.
