Iron hilt with ridge side loop supporting two elegantly recurved bard and a single long langet opposite. Ray skin covered grip with broad base ferrule. 30 ¼” broad single edged blade with wide shallow fuller each side. The left side inlaid in brass or latten with three whimsical Man in the Moon figures among inlaid stars, mocking the Muslim adversaries. Interesting to note that the side bars of the hilt are copper brazed rather than forged as on western European swords. A very rare example serving the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in its defense against the Ottoman Empire.
