PIEDMONTESE (ITALIAN) SHORTSWORD C.1860

Heavy brass hilt with integral heavy recurved cross guard below double band with crown ordnance mark to the left side. 18 1/2 wedge section slightly curved s.e. blade ordnance marked at the base. Guard marked with crown ordinance mark. Blade with oval ordnance mark. Hilt shows medium patina with numerous superficial blemishes from use and storage. Blade dark, with minimal pitting for the period.
