The kora is the national sword of Nepal, used in North India as well. Iron hilt with turned over terminal to the knuckle bow, and chiseled throughout in large scale foliage. Straight cross guard, slightly canted pommel and foliate tipped langets.  22 ¾” (straight measure) blade with “elephant ear” terminal, decorated one side with elephants and tigers among foliage. The other with a Hindu deity and gopis. Shows great age with some wear overall and minor defects to the hilt. Rare form.
