Silver sheathed iron hilt of Aurangzebi form. See Indian Arms and Armor, Vol. II, Pant, fig.281. 30” curved broad fullered blade. Aurangzeb was the last of the Great Moghul rullers, from 1658-1707. The son of Shah Janan, builder of the Taj Mahal, he continued his father’s conquests. He made improvements on the delhishahi hilt resulting in this form. Untouched example. The silver freckled but near completely intact. Blade gray with lineal graining.
