30" curved s.e. wedge section watered steel blade with distinct large whorl pattern. Blade in good polish with some grain separation as expected. Gilt hilt formed as a falcon with alerted head feathers. The perched body with folded wings forming the grip. Integral cross guard with falcon head terminals. Scalloped terminal langets, the left with five small inlays. The right plain as it was worn against the body and not viewed. Gilt complete with light patina. Historically, the falcon was a symbol for Persia and retains that status in Iran.
