Forged iron, over 5 1/8” (5.16”) of broad leaf form, ridged both sides. An exceptionally broad and elegant example of the form specific to Norway, now being revealed by the melt of the glaciers. This type was used in war against opponents wearing leather or mail armor which it was intended to penetrate. Stable excavated condition.
