EUROPEAN PILGRIM'S OR CRUSADER’S CROSS, 8th-12th CENTURY

8th-12th century. Silvered bronze, 1 1/8", 28.0mm total height. The crossbeam is centered with a square. The center with a linear cross form and traces of niello inlay. The back is recessed for the inclusion of a holy relic such as the hair of a saint.  Professionally refurbished with pure silver surface restored, on a modern Sterling silver 18” neck chain.
