The last, undoubtedly for Boer War service and as it was in Africa, it may well have served in the Zulu War of 1885 as well. Iron hilt with rolled edge guard pierced with the Maltese cross. Diced leather grip scales. Hilt retains most original black lacquered finish. Blade with frosty gray patina blending to a little heavier oxidation at the point only. Marks crisp.
