Fine quality particularly early example by Lambert Brown & Co., and so marked at the base of the blade. That address was used 1843-50 placing it in the earliest years of Victoria’s reign (1837-1901). Further foliate decoration to the blade. Gilt hilt with crown form pommel and pierced VR cipher to the guard. Fine wire wrapped grip. See British Cut and Thrust Weapons, Wilkinson, fig.54a for this pattern. Hilt with near all original bright gold overlay and original blade seat. We found no other examples on the internet including auction results.
