ARAB JAMBIYA FROM YEMEN

Elaborately mounted in base silver. Horn hilt with scrolls and sheet bands. Leather scabbard particularly elaborate top and tip mounts of scrolling silver wire beautifully sculpted in open work and bands. The leather with cross lace decoration (three strands defective). 8 3/4" very broad d.e. blade with medial ridge, bright with a few small blemishes as made and very light tool marks. Impressive.
