The 28” blade marked The M C LILLEY & CO COLUMBUS O. That form of address used 1882-1925 only. It is decorated with crusades scene, foliage, arms, a crusader, and the owner’s name. The silvered hilt is modeled in high relief with red enameled Texas star badge. Ivory grip with silvered cross. Plated scabbard with silvered mounts. Silver excellent with some loss to the plated body. The blade with scattered black oxidation. An excellent quality early example showing its age and use.
