17th-early 18th Century, Orthodox rite. Gilt bronze. Over 2” total height. Raised border delineating the cross with broad beams, the cross beam above center and enclosing a stick cross with Cyrillic inscriptions at the terminals. The field retaining all of its original green enamel (true glass) to the field. Reverse with a similar cross with Baroque motifs with a five circle cross at the middle symbolizing the five wounds of Christ. The outside edges in flowing baroque elements. Excellent preservation with crisp detail. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and on a modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with Certificate of Authenticity.
