The period of conversion to Christianity for Vikings. A remnant of the old pagan mythology in the form of a heart with cusped top, in two stages with double curved top over a pointed base. Together, they define a trefoil straight out of Viking mythology. A curious throwback to Viking pagan religion, elements of which were blended with Christianity. Such “transitional” elements were common and persist even today in the form of superstitions and belief in the occult.
The form is unmistakably Viking, with the surround identical to earlier examples and the heart form found in Viking period jewelry as well. Slightly under 7/8” (0.86”) height plus the suspension loop. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored, for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
