Besides Henry VIII himself, it would be hard to find a more colorful character than Thomas More, Henry’s Lord Chancellor. More opposed Henry’s divorce from Katherine of Aragon and refused to take the Oath of Supremacy, which acknowledged Henry as head of the Church of England. He was executed for treason in 1535. This lithograph by Robert White is based on a painting by Hans Holbein. See The National Portrait Gallery #D24947 for another example. Finely engraved and professionally matted to 9” x 12” for an off the shelf frame from Michael’s, Walmart etc.
