Baluster form, 6 ¼” height with elegant recurved handle. The rim marked JAMES YATES with guild mark. The front marked QUART. No assay marks indicating use by a private owner rather than a pub. These were kept in the pub, often marked with the owner’s name and used by the owner only, like shaving cups. Single small old dent from toasting. The Bottom whit Schmidt’s Antiques label marked James Yates 1800-40. Exceptional size and preservation with fine dark patina.
