BYZANTINE CROSS NECKLACE, 8TH-11TH CENTURY

Pilgrim and early Crusades period. Silvered bronze, just under 1 1/4" (1.22”) height with slightly flared form center post. Both sides flat with just remnants of a stipple border. Made by the open face mold technique. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and suspended from an 18” gilt Sterling silver neck chain.  Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
