ANCIENT VIKING HEART PENDANT, 866-1067 AD

Rare variation. Cambridgeshire England. Gilt bronze. Just over ¾” (0.80”) height plus the suspension loop.  Tall heart form with rounded upper. The cusp formed by a pierced heart. A heart within a Heart! The bottom forms  as a trefoil. Made by the open mold technique. The heart symbol embodied the very Viking spirit. Well worn from use and burial 1000 years ago.  Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored, on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
