Type known in Norse as a svaerd, identifying it as a slashing sword with rounded tip not meant for thrusting. 29 7/8" total length with characteristic rounded shoulders for a drooping Inverted U shaped guard. Excavated. The edges showing irregular erosion due to the structure of the forged iron and the fact that they were originally thinned further in towards the middle than a typical broadsword made for hacking.
