VIKING ROPED OR TWIST WEDDING RING, 866-1067 AD, SIZE 7 ¾

Cambridgeshire, England, 866-1067 AD Oval form, size 7 ¾, 1/7mm at the bottom swelling to 2.8mm at the top. The top 2/3 is a deeply modeled roped motif. The spiral or helix was a favorite Viking form. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Vikings exchanged wedding rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword.
