Meiji Period, 1867-1912. 4 5/8" diameter. Characteristic shape, the surface with deep annular rings simulating the tool marks of the potter. Brown body color with black interior. The top with a beautiful gold water lily inside. Intended to express humility by representing an unfinished simple work, then surprise the guest when opened for use. Slight signs of use.
