England, 15th century. Bronze, 2 3/4” modeled heart with suspension loop above. Made to hang in a row from the reins of a charger and would jingle and clank drawing attention as well as warning pedestrians. The heart motif is surely descended from Viking heritage and was sometimes included in coats of arms.  Probably gilt originally. Surface textured from burial and with light green oxidation. Good patina and could be worn.
