3 1/4" X 2 3/4” X 3”. Bombay form with purple velvet front and back. Cloth-hinged lid and linen interior. The corners and lid edged heavily beaded in scrolling motifs. Bead loop fringe to the bottom. Beads intact but for about ¾” on the front left edge, probably replaceable. Handling wear to the velvet. A box like this would have been used for rings broaches, small change etc., usually on a dresser. From an heirloom group with 1904 dated box, consistent with the age of this item. These were made by Indians in Ontario and west New York and sold, particularly at Niagara Falls.
