About 1” (0.93”) diameter, brass, originally plated. Plain flat front with conical back loop to accommodate thick coat fabric. A civilian button used on a hand sewn officers coat. Purchased at a “relic shack” outside the Gettysburg battlefield in the late 1960’s. Clearly impacted in battle. Bent with the back loop intact but flattened. The preserved result of a face to face fight on the Gettysburg battlefield.
