19th century example with cast bronze cruciform (cross shaped) hilt, a throwback to the pre-Muslim era of the culture, before conversion from Christianity. 13 ½” forged iron, tool finished blade. Elaborate leather scabbard with Thickened edges and cross banding. The tip with brass mount, engraved in cross bands and openwork tip. Thick banded arm loop with engraved brass panel secured by four brass lugs. Fine uniform aging and undamaged.
