PRUSSIAN M.1896 ARTILLERY SABER

Iron hilt with ribbed composition grip. Left guard with unit markings matching the scabbard. 30” broad fullered blade, bright in light original preservative. The back with crowned 14 (1914 date). Hilt and scabbard with smooth dull gray patina (minor blemishes). Descended from a soldier of the 42nd Rainbow Division who fought in France and Germany and accompanied by a family letter.
