JAPANESE 1875 PATTERN OFFICER’S SWORD

Early example which probably served in a Russo-Japanese War of 1904, as well as serving in WWII. Good quality hilt well detailed in deep relief and pierced foliage. Retains considerable gold surface, mostly to the guard. Wire wrapped buffalo horn grip. 29” blade with superficial scuffs but virtually all original finish. Plated scabbard with about 99% finish intact.
