INDOPERSIAN EXECUTIONER’S SWORD, 18TH-EARLY 19TH CENTURY

A massive sword of a type sometimes called a tegha. 3 pounds 2.2 ounces weight with 28 ½” blade, recurved at the forte with raised false edge. Both sides decorated full length with panels of script inhabited by snakes. Foliate panels at the forte. Proportionately large iron hilt with monster terminal knuckle bow and flower bud form grip. Mottled dark patina as typical for these.
